The design of the OM-5 was in response to the market's demand for a super high-output mic with natural, undistorted sound. Unlike other brands using "neodymium: magnets and having unnatural sound and excessive feedback, the OM-5 does not sacrifice sonic quality or feedback rejection to achieve its high levels of gain.  The OM-5 is a Dynamic hypercardioid and features high output with gentle presence rise and smooth proximity response. VLM (very low mass) capsule design offers unmatched noise & feedback rejection. Exceptional 48Hz-19kHz frequency response, 144db SPL handling, durable zinc alloy construction, electronically cut blast filter with black E-coat finish. Comes with carry pouch and nylon mic clip.

The OM5 is naturally attenuated at 120 Hz to reduce boominess and handling noise. By employing Audix VLM (very low mass) capsule technology, the OM5 has exceptional transient response. An extremely tight and uniformly controlled hypercardioid pattern helps to isolate the vocals from the rest of the instruments on stage.
