LAGSWING SL200 LAG
Golden Age of Jazz Gypsy Style Acoustic Guitar
Step into the world of Gypsy Jazz with a refined instrument that blends tradition and performance. The SL200 combines a solid spruce top with rosewood back and sides, enhanced by a gloss varnish finely applied to respect the wood's natural vibration. This alliance of noble materials delivers a rich, precise and perfectly articulated sound, with generous projection.
Born in the 1930s with Django Reinhardt and the Hot Club de France, gypsy jazz gave birth to a unique musical identity. At the same time, in Paris, Italian luthier Mario Maccaferri was designing an iconic guitar that would define the sound and silhouette of this singular style. The SWING LÂG series pays homage to this heritage, combining historical inspiration, renowned build quality, meticulous design and a sense of harmony.
True to the heritage of gypsy jazz guitars, the SWING LÂG models adopt the emblematic "small mouth" shape. Renowned for its focused projection and precise articulation in solo performance, it is equally effective in accompaniment, offering the responsiveness and precision essential to pumping.
These instruments incorporate the essential elements that define the sound of the genre: a wooden bridge combined with a metal tailpiece for optimal vibration transmission and characteristic attack, plus Argentine strings, renowned for their clarity, supple tension and rapid response.
In keeping with tradition, the open-work headstock and metal-axis tuning machines retain their original aesthetic, while benefiting from a die-cast system for reliable, precise tuning. The set is completed by a double-action truss rod, for fine neck adjustment and lasting stability.
The SWING LÂG collection offers instruments that combine authenticity and reliability, capable of standing out in the mix while retaining all the dynamic richness of gypsy jazz.
Each SWING LÂG guitar comes with a dedicated gig bag, specially designed for the Gypsy shape. Generously padded and featuring a semi-rigid structure, it provides excellent protection against impact while remaining lightweight and easy to carry. Designed for both everyday use and travel, it combines safety, comfort and practicality, so you can take your instrument everywhere with you in complete peace of mind.
